Latino Coalition for Israel hosted a meeting in Washington, D.C. yesterday between 20 key Christian and Jewish leaders and President Juan Carlos Hernandez of Honduras. The meeting was to applaud his decision to immediately open a diplomatic office in Jerusalem and learn more about Honduras’ overall plan to move its Embassy from Tel-Aviv to Israel’s capital city.
Mario Bramnick, President of Latino Coalition for Israel stated: “As part of Latino Coalition for Israel‘s Jerusalem Task Force Mission we have been dialoging with President Hernandez and Honduran church leaders over the past year to encourage the move of their Embassy to Jerusalem.”
Mario Bramnick further stated that “we were very honored to host President Hernandez at this meeting, to show our great appreciation for his strong support for Israel and for the further practical steps President Hernandez will soon take in the course of officially recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel . We look forward to seeing this process successfully culminate in Honduras’ inauguration of its Embassy in Jerusalem.
Adam Milstein, a prominent leader of the Israeli-American Community , who attended the meeting stated: “The Israeli community in America applauds President Hernández’s courageous decision to move the Honduran embassy to Jerusalem amid rising antisemitism around the world. We commend his leadership as President Hernández bravely stands up to those who continually try to deny the historic connection of the Jewish people to their homeland, the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem. Today, Hondurans and Americans alike stand on the right side of history, united against common detractors who seek to destroy our way of life.”
The Latino Coalition for Israel’s vision is to engage and activate Hispanics in the Pro-Israel movement to counter the global rise of antisemitism and the Campaign to Delegitimize the Nation of Israel and to engage heads of state of Latin American countries to move their Embassies to Jerusalem. Our vision is to establish the largest Pro-Israel Hispanic entity: The Latino Coalition for Israel (LCI).
