The Latino Coalition for Israel, Inc strongly condemns the Biden administration’s grant to pay NGOs to demonize Israel and to provide “accountability” for “atrocities”.

The U.S. State Department has reportedly created a new funding opportunity to “strengthen accountability and human rights in Israel and the West Bank and Gaza”. The State Department is going to use our taxpayer dollars to support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement – a horrific anti-Israel, antisemitic movement.

According to a grant notice posted in February, $987,654 is to be supplied to an NGO by the Department of State Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) to charge Israel with human rights abuses in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza.

Pastor Mario Bramnick, President of Latino Coalition for Israel, states, “This amounts to an effort to undermine the biblical and historical mandate that the nation of Israel is the rightful homeland of the Jewish people,”

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that “This grant is promoting efforts to support the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) which will talk about apartheid, oppression, and occupation. When we know this is the lone democracy in the Middle East and we know that Arabs, Christians, and Jews live alongside each other inside of Israel… To think that the United States taxpayers should be underwriting efforts to undermine the Israeli government… is a 180-degree reversal from where we were four years ago. And it is dangerous for the state of Israel…”

The actual grant notice published by the Department of State has disgraceful content. It includes a “focus on… survivors of atrocities.” The only atrocities the United States government has ever documented are terrorist attacks on Jewish civilians and human rights violations by the terrorist Palestinian Authority dictatorship which pays Arabs to murder Jews. The grants are supposed to be ‘locally led,’ which is Washington-speak for affiliated with radical elements in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. Israel recently took action against six NGOs with direct links to terror organizations, including the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

Bramnick stated, “We call upon members of Congress across America to block these appropriations. “

This comes at a time when Russia is negotiating the Iran nuclear deal between the United States and Iran, and the State Department is reportedly considering dropping the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps from the foreign terrorist organizations’ list.
