Jarbas Aragao
Jarbas Aragao is a Brazilian pastor, translator and journalist. He served as a missionary with YWAM in the United States during the 1990’s. Jarbas graduated with a degree in Theology at the Rio Grande do Sul Baptist Seminary in 2001. He also got a Master’s Degree in Theology at Centro Evangelico de Missoes in 2004. After attending Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) of Wycliffe, Wycliffe Bible Translators in Brazil, he worked as a missionary in Guinea Bissau.
Jarbas is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English, he has worked as a translator for different Christians publishing houses, having translated 32 books. He also served as a translator for Midnight Call and Israel Today, focused on Christian eschatology and the prophetic role of Israel.
After fourteen years as a pastor, in 2011 Jarbas entered the world of politics, working alongside the mayor of his city and later at the Human Rights Secretary of Parana State. During the last years he acted as an advisor for a Christian Congressman at the Brazilian Congress and is currently working as an advisor for the Human Rights Ministry.
For years he has been involved with different ministries, acting in defense of Christian Values and Israel. He has traveled to Israel multiple times. Currently, he is the only Christian director at the Israel-Brazil Sionist Association (ASBI).
As a journalist Jarbas writes for Gospel Prime, the biggest Christian news website in Portuguese. He also serves as a correspondent for CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) In Brazil. He is a blogger at the Times of Israel and contributes for Evangelico Digital, a Spanish Christian website.
